With an edgy haircut, a fashionable wardrobe dedicated to showing off her svelte figure and an enviable supply of sky-high stilettos, Gwyneth Paltrow, 35, has burst back onto the Hollywood scene.
Once famed for her strict macrobiotic diet and dowdy dress sense, the 'Iron Man' actress has enjoyed something of a re-birth recently. But in the famously fickle movie industry, is the new-look Gwyneth actually made to last?
After winning the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Viola De Lesseps in the 1999 film 'Shakespeare in Love' and starring in a host of top-rated Hollywood films - including 'Shallow Hal', 'Sylvia' and 'Proof' - Gwyneth became one of Hollywood's leading ladies.
Add to that a rock star husband - Gwyneth married Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2003 - and it seemed the actress had the world at her feet.
However, in 2004 she made the risky decision to take a break from her glittering career following the birth of the couple's first child, daughter Apple.
"I had my daughter and was so much in love with her that I couldn't bear to leave and go back to work," she remembers.
The couple went on to have son Moses in 2006, and the actress decided to take more time off work to care for the family's new addition.
