George Clooney is set to star in a big-screen adaptation of 'The Tourist'.
The Oscar-winning actor has reportedly agreed to take on the lead role after discovering Warner Bros. had hired Anthony Packham to write the script based on Olen Steinhauer's novel.
Clooney will also produce the movie along with Grant Heslov and Nina Wolarsky.
'The Tourist' is a contemporary international thriller about a spy who risks everything to reveal a conspiracy after he's accused of a murder he didn't commit.
Peckham also wrote Clint Eastwood's upcoming Mandela movie featuring Morgan Freeman.
It will not be the first time Clooney has appeared both in front of and behind the camera in the same movie.
He directed and starred in this year's 'Leatherheads', which also co-starred Renee Zellweger.
