Ellen Degeneres has spoken out in a public service announcement to try and persuade California citizens to say no to a proposed initiative to ban gay marriage in the U.S. state.
The openly gay comedienne has spoken out against the proposed Proposition 8 bill - a high-level state vote in the upcoming November elections to make same-sex marriages constitutionally illegal in California.
Gay marriages were only legalised in May, and DeGeneres and partner Portia de Rossi married in August under the new law.
And the star is doing her part to urge voters to tick no when the bill hits the ballot box next month, in a video posted on her official website.
DeGeneres has come under fire by gay rights advocates for not donating any money to the anti-Proposition 8 campaign, despite her public disapproval of the move.
To date, Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg have both donated $100,000 (£54,000) to the movement, and DeGeneres' mother, Betty, has given $700 (£378).
