Daniel Craig's Bond finance

3 months ago 02nd Jul 13:30

Daniel Craig's success as James Bond allowed him to star in the forthcoming 'Flashbacks of a Fool'.

The movie - written by the actor's childhood friend Baillie Walsh - had been in development for six years but it was only when Daniel achieved A-list status through his 007 role and other high-profile parts in movies such as 'Layer Cake' that it was able to attract the financing it needed.

Baillie revealed: "Luckily, after his success with Bond, he still wanted to do it, and he became an executive producer. His success with Bond enabled the film to happen, to create interest in it, to move it along."

Daniel added: "I just got involved to help drum up the money. You know, pressing the flesh and being nice to people - and you know how much I like doing that. But getting the money is one of the hardest things."

Baillie also claims Daniel's success makes him better suited to his role in the movie as Joe Scott, an actor more interested in partying than work.

He explained: "When I wrote it, Dan wasn't Bond. It makes it more interesting that he is Bond now. And his character - minus some vices - is quite similar to who he is in real life."
