Ashanti Sued For Breach Of Contract.

R&B singer ASHANTI is being sued by her former manager for breach of contract.

The ALWAYS ON TIME singer was hit with legal papers filed in New York City's Manhattan Federal Court today (07JUN06) by LINDA BERK, who is seeking an undisclosed sum for allegedly having her contract terminated in 2003.

Berk, who first met Ashanti in 1993, claims she transformed her client into a "music and entertainment superstar" after signing a deal in 1999 to co-manage Ashanti with her mother TINA DOUGLAS.

A spokesperson for Ashanti says, "The contract naturally expired and we didn't renew it."
