Jodha-akbar Movie Investigated Over Animal Cruelty.... Aishwarya Rai's forthcoming movie Jodha-Akbar is in trouble with authorities, after an animal rights group claimed animals were being mistreated during the production.
Director Ashutosh Gowarikar's film company has been accused of cruelty by the People For Animals (Pfa) group, who filed a police complaint and public lawsuit against the firm.
The animal activists claim the 80 elephants, 100 horses and 55 camels used on set have been ill treated.
Naresh Kumar Kadiyan, chairman of the Pfa, says, "These animals are being subjected to great hardships during the shooting and there is no facility of a vet doctor.
"These animals, fully decked up, are made to stand up long hours in the hot sun".
