Adam Woodyatt's enjoyable role

3 months ago 17th Mar 13:00

Adam Woodyatt claims he's never been happier in 'EastEnders'.

The actor - who has played Ian Beale since the show began in 1985 - says he is relishing every moment and is enjoying going to work.

Adam - whose character has four children - said: "The past two years have been amazing. There's been all this drama with the Beale kids, and loads of comedy material as well. I'm just having a whale of a time. I've enjoyed 2007 and 2008 more than any other years I've been on the show."

Adam, 39, says playing the same character for over 20 years has enabled him to use all of his acting ability.

He is quoted by Britain's InsideSoap magazine as saying: "There's no other job where I'd get to act out my emotions. Our executive producer, Diederick Santer, and the rest of the team give me such great stuff to play. I enjoy it all, not just the big dramas. Ian's a great role - I love it."
