Abba Star Faces Unpaid Tax Demand.
ABBA songwriter BJORN ULVAEUS has been accused of evading paying tax in Sweden on royalties from the band's songs and musicals since they split - over 20 years ago.
The DANCING QUEEN hitmaker allegedly banked the profits offshore to avoid being hit with tax bills estimated at 87 million crowns ($11.38 million/£6.5 million).
Ulvaeus is appealing against the demand.
Tax authority official MERJA CLASSON says, "We believe he owns the rights and that he did not give this information in his declarations."
However the songwriter's lawyer SVEN RYGAARD claims his client was legally within his rights to move his money to less taxable locations.
