After pulling in one of the biggest crowds of the weekend at last year’s 10th anniversary festival, it is with great pride, excitement and mild arousal that BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR welcomes back the inimitable DEVIN TOWNSEND to Catton Hall this year.
>From the aggression of his early years through the multilayered melodies of later work, via the ridiculously amusing Ziltoid The Omniscient, DEVIN has something for every occasion. A true master of emotion, he’ll make you laugh and cry, rage and chill, and laugh some more. With two albums - “Deconstruction” and “Ghost” set for a June release as the follow up to 2009’s “Addicted”, this year DEVIN comes armed with an ever heavier arsenal of stunning musical majesty with which to assault our senses. The man himself checked in to tell us:

Last year was a difficult time for the band and the festival alike, and this time we will make sure our gear is there and we are ready to rip! The festival includes many of my favorite bands through the years and it's a total honor and privilage to be involved for the second year in a row!”

After technical problems due to the bands gear being lost in transit forced the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT to cut their set short, despite the excellence of the stand-up show that followed, we’re hopeful there will be no such plagues of technical failure this year, at DEVIN TOWNSEND’s only UK Festival show of 2011.
