Queen Star Rodgers Rules Out Firm Reunion At Ertegun Show....
Former Free and current Queen frontman Paul Rodgers has ruled out another major rock reunion at the upcoming Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert - he won't be reteaming with guitarist Jimmy Page.Page's Led Zeppelin will perform a one-off reunion at the London show on 10 December (07), but, although Rodgers is on the bill, there are no plans to bring The Firm back to life.Rodgers, a late addition to the line-up, formed the short-lived 1980s band with Page, but has no plans of reviving the music they created at the tribute to the late Atlantic Records founder. He says, "We did make some great music, but, no."And Rodgers admits his only hope for the Ertegun tribute is that it doesn't become more about the Led Zeppelin reunion than his late friend. But he hopes the rock supergroup shine as they headline the event: "I do think that the purpose and the point of the show is to celebrate Ahmet Ertegun's life."It's an honour for all of us to have been signed by the man who discovered people like Ray Charles, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin."That said, I hope Led Zeppelin can live up to the expectations, because they're huge. God bless 'em and good luck to 'em."
