Kings Of Leon

Kings Of Leon star Nathan Followill has threatened to beat up a mystery band's hangers-on after they went public with their feelings about the Sex On Fire hitmakers' antics backstage at a festival.

The drummer is refusing to name names, but it's clear he's still annoyed about one story that broke about his band. He tells Spin magazine, "A fellow headliner at a festival we played recently bad-mouthed us... You'll know what band I mean when you see the press release announcing I'm in jail for hitting a couple (of) girls."

Followill could be referring to dance music act Groove Armada, who grumbled about Kings of Leon's behaviour at England's V Festival in August. DJ Andy Cato was upset to find the American band had assigned security to keep the showers and toilets to themselves.

In a post on his blog, he wrote, "Over in the artist area there was already a queue for the washrooms... But the waiting went on for a long while due to a faulty water supply. Then I noticed the empty shower block just the other side of some temporary fencing.

"A couple of us found a gap in the barrier. Out of nowhere came a very large man. 'Reserved for the Kings of Leon' he said, 'and so is this half of the artist toilets'. It's hard to believe that someone actually phoned their agent and said, 'Listen I know that Paul Weller, Kasabian, Florence (Welch), Stereophonics, Groove Armada + co are all sharing the artist village and facilities, but we require that you put a fence down the middle of the toilets and showers and put a large man there to keep them just for us.' But somebody did."
