On July 15, 2010, Take That announced that they were to return to their original line up of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams. With the return of the fun, lovable Mr Robbie Williams, we finally feel like Take That are back to how they should be.
Back in 2006 after the band had been in turmoil for a year, the lads came to blows over varying ideas and lifestyles. The confrontations arose just before the band was set to start their tour. During one of the final tour rehearsals before they hit the road, Robbie quit the band, making that rehearsal the last performance by all five band members for the next 12 years.
Despite being another band that fall into the ‘manufactured’ category, Take That certainly haven’t stuck within those guidelines and have had a string of success with careers spanning 21 years. In that time the band have had 25 top 40 hits including, 11 number one singles and six number one albums.
Take That released their latest album, Progress, on November 15. The selling a staggering 235,000 copies in the first day of sales, the album became the fastest selling album of the century. It was the biggest first day sale for an album since Oasis released ‘Be Here Now’ in 2007.
Take That, Welcome back. We look forward to what comes next.
