Conflict has arisen between London and the two heavyweight weeks, Milan and New York, which are planning to hold shows the day before and during British Fashion Week.
Where London will run from 21 - 25 September, Milan has announced their dates will run from 19 - 25 September and New York will end the day before from the 13 - 20 Sepf 2012.
LFW is becoming increasingly vulnerable as it takes place in the five days between Milan and New York.
This year proved problematic for London as designers and organisers of Milan Fashion Week called models working at both events to fly over early for dress fittings and last minute arrangements, meaning that they missed some of the LFW runway shows.
Since the clash of dates has been announced, Milan's Chamber of Fashion will not budge on their S/S 2013 Fashion Week dates that are to be held in September next year.
With Milan stealing the spotlight from London, not only does it mean that editors and commentators will have to decide between one event or the other, it puts more pressure on internationally recognised models to choose too.
It already seems likely that models will be reluctant to turn down Milan in favour of London, depending on the designers they are commissioned by.
The saga continues...
