Ali Campbell's UB40 have been confirmed to appear on the Main Stage at GuilFest on Saturday 17th July 2010. As lead singer with the world-renowned group UB40, Ali Campbell has sold over 60 million records worldwide, toured across the globe, notched up four number No. 1 world-wide singles, over 40 Top 40 UK singles, released 24 studio albums and received an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement.
A whole generation has grown up listening to Ali’s infectious vocals on classics like ‘One in Ten’ ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ - massive hits that have made his one of the UK’s most distinctive and recognisable voices.

Alvin Stardust, confirmed to perform on The Good Time Guide Stage at GuilFest also on Saturday 17th July, is without a doubt one of the UK's most well known singer songwriters. Alvin shot to stardom in the 70's - he had already had four hit singles under the name of Shane Fenton, but 'My Coo Ca Choo', his début single as Alvin Stardust, was massive. It became a huge international No.1 hit and spent over six months in the charts. Numerous hits followed throughout the world, including 'Jealous Mind', 'You, You, You', 'Red Dress', and 'Good Love'. Music Week even awarded Alvin "Best Male Recording Artist" and at the British Pop Awards Alvin won "Best Live Performance". Alvin's success continued into the 80s, where he scored more even more hits and continued touring round the world, and since then he has appeared in numerous TV shows, including Hollyoaks, Harry Hill's TV Burp and Doctors. Organisers are delighted to welcome this legend to Stoke Park for the first time this July.
Indie post-punk rockers, The Young Knives, will be performing on Sunday 18th July on the Main Stage at GuilFest 2010. Known for their energetic live performances and their taste in tweed outfits, The Young Knives hit the big time with the critical success of the début album “...Are Dead” in 2002. Further national recognition was achieved 3 years later with the release of their hit single “The Decision” in 2005. Their next two albums achieved top 40 status, and the band was nominated for a Mercury Music prize in 2007. Since then, The Young Knives have toured the globe, supporting huge acts such as The Kaiser Chiefs – Catch 'em for the first time at GuilFest this year in Stoke Park.
Experimental instrumental rockers 65daysofStatic will be back at GuilFest this year, performing on the Main Stage at Stoke Park on Friday 16th July. Fresh from the release of their brand new album, “We Were Exploding Anyway”, the critically acclaimed quartet will be making a welcome return to Guildford since their last appearance at GuilFest in 2008.
Dance duo of the moment, South Central are confirmed to support Sub Focus (dj set) in The Funky End Dance Tent, also on Friday 16th July. Formed late 2006, and known for a series of 12" bootlegs and a rapid succession of remixes for the likes of Metronomy, Klaxons, The Prodigy and The Whip, South Central have toured with Pendulum and gained regular airplay from the likes of Eddie Temple Morris, John Kennedy, Annie Mac and Pete Tong to name but a few so far in their relatively short, but hugely successful career.
Brighton raised, multi award winning DJ Friction will be supporting Chase and Status (dj set) in The Funky End Dance Tent on Sunday 18th July. Friction is one of a handful of DJ's to have smashed through the ranks and become a superstar in his genre simply through an unbelievable talent behind the decks. Regarded by many as not only the most skilled but the most diverse DJ in drum & bass, he is sure to have The Funky End Dance Tent rocking!
