I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Day 7: Four Rise To The Challenge Of First Bush BattleGemma, John, J and Katie were the four celebrities who decided to take on the first Bush Battle to win immunity from the first eviction. The four were simply told the battle required endurance before they decided to do it. When they reached a clearing in the forest they read a sign which told them that their endurance challenge was called Are We Nearly There Yet and involved sitting in a 4X4 for as long as they could - and the person who remained in the longest would be the winner.

Gemma’S Claustrophobic Bush Battle Gemma and J were the first to quit the Bush Battle which involved sitting in a car to before quitting.

Afterwards, in the Bush Telegraph, Gemma described her ordeal.

She said: "I had to sit in a car with Katie and John it was a wooden seat. There was no air because the windows weren’t open. There was no handle inside so we couldn’t get out. It was a wooden seat with four of us on it.

"The windows were condensating, it was sweating, they were smelling. I’m claustrophobic so I could see out the window but when it got dark there was no chance I had to get out of there.

"The atmosphere inside went a bit deranged and we started laughing and giggling then we tried to make it easy for us to stretch. We went a bit giggly but I sneezed and I could smell my sneeze for about four or five minutes afterwards.

"It was horrible, and we were all sweating because it’s boiling hot, we’ve not eaten so our stomachs were churning and our bones have protruded in our bums over the last week. I’m aware of sitting on hard surfaces because I’ve lost the junk from my trunk."She predicted John would win."He’s got it in his own mind he wants to stay there all night, he’s even considering pooing himself. I’m not going to go as far as urinating or pooing myself on national TV. I’ll draw the line there. So I think if John was willing to do that he deserves to win."

J Backs John To Win The Bush Battle
In the Bush Telegraph J spoke of his experience in the Bush Battle.

He said: "The various conversations we had one of them was what to do when it comes to going to the toilet when we were discussing whether staying in there for the night or not.

"John said he was more than willing to crap himself on ITV if it meant him coming out last so I’m hoping Katie will come out because I’m not sure if ITV will be allowed to show the footage of John actually crapping himself for the sake of winning the challenge."

Katie Gives In And John Wins The Bush Battle

As 9.30pm approached - after just over six hours of being cooped up in the car - Katie yawned and told John she had to get out of the car to pee, leaving him to win immunity from the first eviction.

She said: "Right, I need to go for a wee mate, say goodbye. I can’t say, I’m A Celebrity, please can I say I’m a Celebrity-Get Me Out Of Here! even though I don’t think I am one?"

John: "I’m not a celebrity either."

Katie: "Congrats big John."

John: "Thank you."

Katie got out of the car and ran to go for a wee, while John waited for a further two minutes to ensure he had definitely won.

Afterwards Katie told the Bush Telegraph: "A woman’s gotta pee, and when a woman’s gotta pee, she’s gotta pee.

"The car had been stripped clean of everything so it’s just metal and it’s really hot down there and the metal car obviously acts like an oven and the boys are pretty sweaty boys and J had inadvertently forgotten to shower this morning so the air was pretty fresh. After about ten minutes and by about 20 minutes the windscreen was wet and the air was really pungent in there.

"It was really hot so you wanted to drink but you knew you shouldn’t because then you’d need to pee. It just really wasn’t that pleasant at all.

"I was really determined to go out there and give it my best I would have seen myself as a strong contender but at the end of the day I had to pee, you know a woman’s gotta pee and as a mother I pee more than most so when it came down to it I couldn’t hold it any longer, I wasn’t prepared to do that in the car. I knew that John had already decided that if he needed to pee he was either going to do it in a bottle or in a hole in the floor, so there was no way of beating him. So I knew I had to call it a day."

John said: "It was hot sweaty, quite tedious but I went in there with my mind set on winning and I was going to die in the car. I’d already found a hole I could possible pee in there and I wasn’t going to lose that one. Once the two young ones had given up, too early as far as I was concerned, I had to rely on Katie and her weak bladder to win the day.

"I feel completely happy about winning, although I don’t want to gloat. However I’m not happy about missing supper, I’ve had four spoons of rice today and I’m famished. But never mind.

"On the morning of the first eviction I will feel content that it won’t be me but then it depends on who is going to be evicted. Once you’ve been in such close proximity with people, and some people I really really like, it would hurt to say goodbye to my friends.

"It was absolutely fundamental that I won this one because I don’t want to leave, at all, but I certainly don’t want to leave first, no-one does. So by doing this and winning this is keeps me in for another day and it’s just that I don’t want to be the first one to be thrown out because it somewhat of a failure and I couldn’t handle it."

J and Gemma laster just under four hours in the Bush Battle. Katie lasted just over six hours and John lasted a further two minutes after that.
