We'll excuse you for doing a comedy double-take at the beginning of this episode. No, you haven't tuned into Prisoner: Cell Block H (ask your Liza Minnelli-loving uncle) but the first scene, where Ric is getting his mugshots taken, doesn't half remind us of it. This is interspersed with footage of a banged-up Johnny having a game of sevensies and losing. Mattie is panicked as Ric is taken into the holding cells. "The evidence is flamin' well wrong", spits Alf, who should probably hurry up and call his solicitor sister. Peter soon emerges to let them know that bail has been set; Ric can go home after the paperwork is finished. However, they don't just need bail - they need a miracle. Later, as Matilda tries to offer some comfort, Brad heads to the prison to have a word with Johnny. This goes less than brilliantly. "I wouldn't worry about me", Johnny snarls. "I'd worry about your girlfriend." And back at the house, Alf leaves Ric some food on a tray in his room. It's exactly the same kind of treatment he can expect during those long spells in solitary. Anyway, Alf quietly lets Ric know that whatever he's feeling, he can open up to them. Failing that, he just has to promise that he won't give up - as they certainly won't be giving up on him. Cassie! How dare you have a life of your own! You should stay at home all day, only leaving the kitchen sink to put your feet under the oven or hop into bed at your boyfriend's beck and call. Well, that's not our attitude of course, but it certainly seems to be Macca's take on things. He's most displeased when Cassie tells him that she's planning to go and visit Sally that day; he persuades her to stay by saying that she needs to wait in for a delivery. So picture the disappointed faces on those poor little Parcel Force boys when Cassie catches wind of Ric's situation and hot-foots it down there anyway. Meanwhile, Jack arrives at the police station and offers to take a look at Ric's case. Peter says he'll allow it, but doubts he'll find anything. Ash grabs the files for him as Jack has a word about him ditching his wife. "You did the right thing", he smiles, before settling down to work. However, the fact that he later takes a message from a cooing Rianna just a few seconds later proves that Ash has been setting his pants on fire again. "She seemed pretty chirpy for someone whose husband just broke up with her", Jack bellows. Somebody's got some explaining to do...At the hospital, Rachel gives Rocco another check-up. There's little sign of improvement until he flinches and ends up giving her hand a squeeze. Peter and Ash arrive as soon as they get the call; Rachel tells them to be gentle with him. Meanwhile, Brad returns to the house to report that Johnny was anything but helpful. But the sombre mood is broken with a phone call from Peter letting them know Rocco's woken up. "You're flamin' kidding!", hoots Alf, as galahs fall from the trees and Mattie runs upstairs to tell Ric. He's visibly relieved to hear this; finally, his name can be cleared. Back at the hospital, Peter asks Rocco if he recalls who attacked him. Rocco, finding it difficult to speak, says that he can remember. He fights for air to get the words out just as Nurse Gloria shouts out that his blood pressure is dropping. It's panic stations as Rachel grabs the defibrillator paddles. A short time later, Peter heads to Summer Bay House. Everybody is brimming with excitement as they stuff their fat faces with one of Sally's roasts. However, Peter soon puts a dampener on things. "I'm afraid Rocco died about 30 minutes ago", he announces. Surely not, Peter. But what could it all mean? "It means the charge has to be changed to murder", he reveals, as everybody sprays the table with gravy.
