As Anchor Bay UK releases Born To Fight onto DVD and Blu-ray on 3rd October starring the one and only Stone Cold Austin, we thought we would have to look to see who the Top 5 Wrestlers turned actors are, past and present...
1. Our winner has to be Steve 'Stone Cold' Austin. Stone Cold has fought onto our screens many times over the years.
Being the only nominated Action Hero even to be nominated for a Teen Choice. We have seen Stone Cold Kick Butt from The Longest yard right through to Hunt To Kill, The Stranger and now Stone Cold’s newest debut; Born To Fight, having being released in the UK on DVD and Blu-ray on 3rd October we think he’s the biggest action hero going.
2. Dwayne Johnson, also known as "The Rock", comes in at number 2 as the professional boxer also has quite a few film titles under his belt, including The Mummy Returns.
He is still a working actor with Spy Hunter in the pipe line.
3. Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan is one of the most loved and hated wrestlers of all time. Having his debut in Rocky III, this set him up nicely for his WWE career.
Hulks popularity soon grew to an international level and his film career was soon forgotten.
4. Andre the Giant. Andre is a gigantic professional wrestler with his 6-foot height and 10-inch frame he is hard to miss.
Andre was appearing in films as his off-side wrestling popularity starting to peak. Andre’s most famous role has to be in 1987, where he played the giant in The Princess Bride.
5. Kane (Glen Jacobs) is probably better known as a WWE wrestler, but he is fast making himself known in the film circles too. Kane had a starring role in See No Evil in 2004 but premiered last May.
But his strong wrestling fan’s seemed to help him through. Now Kane has signed a contract to appear in a not-yet planned sequel, so no doubt Kane and fans will be on the rise.
