On 23rd July ’07 Island Records will release the new single by rising Australian singer-songwriter Josh Pyke. Entitled “Private Education” it is written and performed by Josh Pyke. Recorded in Sydney and New York it was produced by Wayne Connolly and Josh Pyke. A story of a doomed love affair, “Private Education” is taken from Josh’s recently released debut album “Memories & Dust” which he recorded as pretty much a one man band “I play pretty much everything - guitars, bass, piano, keys, a bit of banjo….I’d be the string section if I could, anything to bring it closer to the sounds and sensibility I’m hearing in my head. ” 'Private Education' is a crafted, honed song which reveals new layers on each listen. “Lyrics intrigue me.
