Katie Melua

Beginning in Manchester on December 4th the 13 date tour will visit Glasgow, Gateshead, Leicester, Ipswich, Sheffield, Cardiff, Birmingham, Liverpool, Brighton, London, Croydon, and Bournemouth before concluding in Bristol on December 21st.

Fans can look forward to hits from Katie’s first three international best-selling albums including ‘The Closest Thing To Crazy’ and ‘Nine Million Bicycles’ as well as songs from her latest album ‘The House’. Released in May, Katie’s fourth album has garnered some of the finest notices of her career and topped Billboard’s pan-European charts.

The first single ‘The Flood’ was described by Radio 2’s Janice Long and the Daily Telegraph as “the best thing she’s ever done.” Meanwhile the Sunday Express declared “Four albums in, Melua has made her masterpiece” and the Mail on Sunday wrote “She proves herself to be a songwriter of subtlety and depth”. Q Magazine called ‘The House’ “A mighty leap forwards” and The Times described it as “Her best yet”.

Whether performing with her band or on her own with just her guitar Katie Melua’s voice is instantly recognisable and, with a unique and magical quality, is nothing short of astonishing.

The special guest on these UK dates will be Dutch sensation Caro Emerald who will be performing songs from her debut album ‘Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor’, a shiny collection of “vintage pop” with influences from the 40’s and 50’s and a contemporary sheen.

Since its release in her native Holland in January, ‘Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor’ has spent 26 weeks on top of the album chart. ‘Back It Up’, the first UK single, will be released on September 20th with the album released on October 4th.
