Sanjay Dutt To Remain On Bail Due To Technicality....

Troubled Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt could stay out of jail for another month because of a legal technicality.

The actor, who was sentenced to six years behind bars for illegal possession of weapons linked to the 1993 Mumbai bombings in India, was released on conditional bail last month (23Aug07) because the anti-terror court failed to provide him with a copy of its judgment.

His lawyer Karan Singh says Dutt still has not received the court order which is now expected to arrive in mid-October (07).

Once he receives the document, he has been ordered to turn himself in.

During his temporary release, Dutt has been working on his upcoming movie Kidnapped, one of his six movies in production.

Dutt, 48, was sentenced on 31 July (07) for possessing weapons received from plotters of the bombings which killed 257 people and wounded 800.

But the popular star has always maintained his innocence, claiming he purchased a Kalashnikov assault rifle to protect his family from sectarian violence.
