Not sure if im dreaming or awake

Hi MIMI, I was wondering if you know what this means, the thing is im not even sure if im awake or asleep when it happens. I wake in the middle of the night and i cant move and i get this feeling that something bad is in the room with me and i feel totally petrified, the worse part is that i cant move or speak.
I told my bf and he just takes the p*ss and thinks im making it up but it feels too real to be a dream.

that's happened to me!!!
I fell asleep in the afternoon one day when i was about 15, and woke up because my tv was on and the news music was loud. and i couldn't move at all, i was trying to but i couldn't and i remember my back was to the tv and i was thinking why wasn't a lying the other way!? because a news update was on which meant home and away was next (aussies will know what that is) I was definately awake and it lasted for about 20 seconds.

man thats happend to me I cant move I feel like somthings pressing down on my chest and for some reason It feel like someones standing right besides my bed I'm tolltally awake but I was reading some were cant remember were but it said that in the midle of the night when your asleep you go into almost a hypnotic trance and if for any reason you come out of it like a sound or something tuching you that startels you can wake up and becouse you still hafe in the trance you cant move or speak
