Well, I'm not of age for bars or anything, but I'm pretty sure the nearest is about 20 minutes away, in Putney, but I'm not even sure it's open anymore. It's called the Rainbow Lounge. And I'm about 45 minutes - 1 hour away from Northampton, which is like gay city. There are quite a few gay people around here, but not much of a scene as far as I know. It's not a huge town, where I live.
I live in Florida so there is quite a large gay thing happening - at least where I'm at.. I'm not sure about anywhere else, though I heard that the keys, Orlando (Disney's 'Gay Day'), Miami - places like that are supposed to be booming with gay clubs, people, etc. We have our parades here and Busch Gardens does a 'Gay Day' as well.. though I don't know how widely accepted it is..this is where alot of retirees flock..
Where I live in good ole' Alabama, there isn't even one openly gay bar, but in Nashville there is a little place called the Lipstick Lounge we love to go when we get a chance...my lady loves it when I sing to her, and last time, I finally got my turn on the karaoke stage...she was thrilled, and I got lots of applause...mmm...can't wait to go back.
Well, I live in a neighborhood with a nice lesbian 'family'. There are three of us lesbian couples. Plus a bi sexual and another unattached lesbian, that we all consider family, plus one or two other lesbian couples in the neighborhood. To go to an actual gay bar we would have to go an hour to Wichita. But there are clubs here in town that we can be out in and those we just can't. I prefer to goto the ones we can be out in. But Saturday noght the only one that had kareoke, our only reason for going out, was not one we could be out in. About half way through the night Janis decided to give me a neck massage just to have a chance to touch me. It was our first actual date even though she has lived here for over a month. Awe, next time we go somewhere else.
