I was just wondering if you have taken it and what kind of side effects there are...I heard that you get your period afterwards, and I guess its really heavy...

I took it when they first came out in the U.S., and let me tell you... NEVER AGAIN. The pill is actually two different pills taken (I think) 12 or 18 hours apart. Let me tell you, after taking that first pill, I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I was achy, dizzy, had the chills, and threw up every 20-30 minutes. It was the worst feeling of sickness in the world. I was so weak, I could hardly even stand up. They tell you that you HAVE to take the second pill, and if you happen to get sick and throw up that second pill, they require you to come back in and start ALL OVER AGAIN taking them. I puked up the second pill right after taking it, as I couldn't even hold down water. I said, screw this, and waved joyfully as I flushed that little bugger right down the toilet. Thankfully a week later I started my period. WHEW. I did have some spotting after taking the first pill the next day, but my full blown period didn't start until that following week.

Sadly, this "quick fix" is being used by some women as a regular method of birth control.. especially younger girls who are too naive to use protection in the first place. This is not a good idea, as this pill can have some horrible adverse reactions if taken REGULARLY. It forces your reproductive system to think you are on your period, and that can have damaging effects, such as infertility. I could go on and on about the way this pill can mess you up, but your best bet would be to do a search on the internet for "morning after pill". You'll see what I'm talking about. Just type in dangers or side affects during your search.

If you simply MUST take the pill during a one time flub up, then I'd say go ahead and give it a try. Maybe you'll get lucky and only have mild side effects. But trust me, once you experience the hell that is "the morning after" you'll never forget to use protection again, unless you're a masochist or something. LOL

My girlfreind has taken it aswell and had the same vomiting affect. It also got her period all out of wack. Then again her freind took it and she had no effects. I think that most of the time depending on the person it will have that sickening effect.

Be aware that it doesn't always work either. I took it towards the end of the 72 hr period it is supposed to be effective and now I have a beautiful, healthy 4yr old who lights up my life...
