Organising yourself?

We are planning to get married in Thailand next year. We'd like a beach, western style wedding but as backpackers we will be on a budget - literally. So we thought we will organise it ourselves, but would that be too much hussle and stress or worth it?

If so, where do we start?

Or if you guys have suggestions in cheaper wedding venues/co-ordinator... please let me know!
