Hello! Myself and two girlfriends are going to the UK this upcoming September! We're SO excited!! We're hoping to live and work somewhere in Yorkshire for most of the time and spend a while travelling around the UK and a bit of France too! Total trip time will be about 6 months. It's our present to ourselves after our graduation from university.

It's getting to that time where planning for this trip is gearing up. we're booking out plane tickets in a week and all that. Visas will come soon after.

I was just wondering if anyone could give us advice on finding a place to live and a job, since it's hard to do from so far away. (We're in Western Canada and the 7 hour difference (and crazy long distance rates) even makes phoning a bit difficult.) Any good on-line databases? Any recommendations of where exactly to live? Also, what kind of wages should we expect (our jobs will probably be sales or waitressing or clerical...)?

Any help at all with this or what else to expect would be greatly apreciated! We're so excited and I just want to make sure all our plans come through! Thanks all!

Amy
