Help! When to buy ring??

My boyfriend just proposed to me with a beautiful engagement ring. We have decided not to have the wedding until we are both finished with college (which will not be for a couple of years). When is the appropriate time for me to buy his ring? Or does that wait until the wedding?? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!

Depends if he wants (or should I say you both want) him to wear and engagement ring ..... a nice signet ring, which he could transfer to his right hand after you marry, might go well. And the right time - now I guess.
