MS Outlook

Postby Loki on Sat Dec 24, 2005 5:03 pm

Is there a way to change the new mail alert sound? I'm currently using MS Outlook 2002.

I've found the option "Play a sound" when new item arrives, but I was wondering if its possible to change this sound?

Hum,
You could try changing the sound in settings -- Control Panel --sounds and audio devices.

Or just find where the file is and rename the sound file and replace with another one (renamed).

But why are you using Outlook?
You want to be infected?

(Hint use yahoo mail)

Cheers for that.

A friend of mate is a MS certified chappy. So if anything goes wrong, he can fix it for me knowing he's got the knowledge. So I use Outlook.
So far, I've yet to be infected (fingers cross!)

And my securities are as up-to-date as possible.

I call it MS LookOut for obvious reasons

Its a horrible mess of an "application" - bloatware of the kind only MS can develop.

I'll stick to simpler - more useful alternatives.

If you tweak Outlook right, there isn't a problem. Just a matter of fine-tuning. I prefer gmail though, by far better.

I agree with blobrana on replacing the sound file it uses.
