Still in nappies.

I know this is embarassing.

I have worn terry nappies till I was 15 but didn't know that i would have to reuse them 8 yeras later (as an adult)

Im currently 23 and had my first child 3 months ago. I soon discovered that I my weak bladder was getting weaker and weaker and that I couldn't hold my water for long and I was leaking frequently as well as wetting the bed.

My husband found out when our bed was damp for the 4 th time that week and suggested I used protection. At first I thought he meant the Tena Lady stuff but then it turned out she meant re-usuable protection. She meant Adult Size Terry Towelling Nappies !

When he showed me what he bought 2 huge boxes, I hid like a little girl in fear under the covers. At first I outright refused saying I'm not having a nappy towelling under my jeans and I wasn't a baby ! I decided to try it afterwards and it turne out to be really comfy (but babyish) to have a few layers secured with nappy pins and mpre economical as well than disposables- especially with 5 or 6 changes as well ! But at least i can go out with confidence without carrying spare panties and skirts with me !

The only thing is when my baby grows up, I'll have to do some explanation !

Our 5 year old daughter doesn't want to be out of her towelling nappies and plastic pants. When she comes home from school she lies on the bed and asks for mummy to change her. She even gets a couple of nappies out from the pack already that we though would stop using a while ago.

She's very grumpy if she doesn't have one.

My5 year old daughter won't get out of her terry nappies in the mornings espcially at weekends, what should I do ? She told me she wants to wear them and be a baby ? She wets the bed as well

Is it true that children like wearing nappies ?

I have heard this from many people that many kids like having a nice thick terry nappy between their legs. Many purposely don't have a nighttime wee so they'll wet them at night.

Is it also tru that urine is connected to emotio and could it be the nappy that cotains all her emotions ?

Although a 3 and a half year old in nappies seems a little old, spare a thought for my cousine, who has two girls aged 5 and 7 and they are both still in nappies. Some time ago we (families) all went on a picnic, both the girls wore a nappy and some sort of plastic pants under their shorts and dress. When I questioned my cousin, she replied that it is normal and they feel content to wear them. She said that often they don`t even need them, so why would they want to wear them?

My 5 yr old girl still wears 2 thick terries with a soaker and plastic pants to bed and when we're out i.e. to shopping etc. I'll rather she wet her 'Baby towelling' than her pants. After her she's still a baby

It started when she wanted to sleep with me but she still had night time accidents. I gave her the option of either wearing a nappy or sleeping on her own and she chose the nappies. I know it's babyish but later she told me she feels comfy in them.

My 8 year old asks to wear a nappy to bed some nights but on the nights she doesnt wear a nappy she allways wears plastic pants. When she wears a nappy it is wet in the morning. She has recently asked for a nappy at bedtime when she was very constipated, her stools had been very hard for a week or so and she had had to strain very hard for a long time to pass anything and had had to do this both morning and evening, then for 3 days she couldnt pass anything( I kept her off school on the 3rd day so she could keep trying) on 2nd evening when she couldnt do anything she asked for a bedtime nappy saying it would be more comfey than just plastic pants which she wore and wet, next evening she asked for a nappy and when it was on as she got into bed she asked if she could do her poo in her Nappy- well I was shocked - this hadnt happened since she was potty trained, well I said to her if that was going to make her able to go poo then yes she could but this time only - It was strange changing a poo filled 8 yr olds nappy. That was 3 weeks ago - my daughter has been constipated for the last 2 days and tonight she has again asked if she can do it in her nappy , i dont know what to do, its not as if she is doing it in a nappy instead of using the toilet,she has been on the toilet trying several times today. She has no issues about using the toilet and always tries to do a poo before going to school, she is quite happy to sit on the toilet straining until she does a poo- although on a morning she doesnt have much time but spends as much time as she needs on an evening.

So to my question - Should I let her use a nappy when constipated? Does anyone have experience of this IE a child wanting to poo in a nappy as an older child,

letting a child get constipated is bad for her.causes her discomfort bloating.if she is able to do a poo and it is solid not just runny and there is a good amount then let her use her nappy. if it is liquid it could be liquid poo which buils up behind solid poo and this is not a poo but just liquid. so a dood messy poo lots of solids is a prpoer poo and shes better getting rid of it than u using medication. if ur girl loves her nappies plasticpants give her them whos going to punish u for keeping ur child happy.make sure u change her dirty nappy or she will get nappy rash.by the way i think u r a great mum. keep her happy in her nappy

Does anyone have any problems with children beyond the age of 6 asking to be changed into towelling nappiea and plastic pants.
For some reason my daughter has loved wearing them, ever since I put her in them for bedwetting and refused to take them off.
She even tells me when she's wet them whilst in the shooping centre.

Can anyone help, this is worrying me that a big kids wants to wear nappies all the time

A few weeks ago our 7 year old daughter wet her bed (after being dry for some time). We thought nothing of it until it became quite frequent and we decided to put her back in towelling nappies for a little while (we had to buy larger and thicker ones _). We though that this was going to be a temporary solution and she would outgrow the bewetting. We put 2 nappies on her with a layer for the 'soaker' although this solved the problem of wet sheets, it didn't seem to have solved her bedwetting but has made it worse.

Before she would have 2 or 3 dry nights but now her nappies are soaked every morning- even though she goes wee before night. But she doesn't seem to complain about the wetness. Once i noticed her sitting on her bed and the nappy turning damper and darker. Now we have to nappy her almost all day- she says she can't hold her, wee but before we nappies her she coudl hold till she gets to the bathroom. She doesn't seem to mind being in nappies although we said they're for babies but we go though about4-6 changes a day.

What can i do ?

I'm glad I'm not alone and its a great comfort to me that there are other mums with the same problem.
My daughter who is nearly 8 years old still wets the bed at night. We used disposables but they aren't really up to the job so I have used terry nappies and plastic pants fom Boots for the last few years.

Like one of the other mums, when she comes home from school she says I going up to lay on the bed. This is my cue from her that she wants to have her nappy on straight away - she doesn't want to wait until bedtime.

She'll often wet her nappy while watching TV so its soaked through well before she's due for bed and I have to change her into a double thick nappy.

Despite everything I've never been able to get rid of her various dummies either. She will scream ansd shout blue-murder if ever I try.

What worries me is that she will end up being a lonely teenager if this behaviour continues but she shows no sign of wanting to give up being a tantrummy toddler.

Do you not htink putting nappies on heer is encouraging her to wee the bed?

I stopped letting my son wear bedtime pants about a month before christmas (his 5th birthday) and since then he has wet the bed once. Where as when he had them on he would do it every night. He has even started realising he needs the toilet if he is asleep, and wakes up.
