I'm a 21 year old female and I've been clubbing only once, and that was 3 years ago.

I want to start going out but I really haven't a clue as to what to wear. I've looked around the net and it seems to be simple - the less the better, but that's really not my thing.

Is it acceptable to wear a white vest and some (tight) jeans with a pair of new trainers? I don't want to look like a kid but I also don't want to look cheap. (I consider miniskirts out of the question.)

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Unless the club has a dress code (some won't allow trainers or jeans) I don't see why not. Personally I wouldn't wear jeans to a club but if I wasn't going to wear a skirt I'd choose some stylish trousers. I have a pair of long stretch hipster flares I'm quite fond of... Cool

Ok it sounds like an interesting dilema, my first piece of fashion advice is don't wear trainers clubbing, generally you won't be allowed in. I usually wear heels, kitten heels are usually good as they look sexy but are also easy to dance in. However if you don't like heels then try mules or some sort of sandal style shoe. As for the outfit itself i usually wear miniskirts or mini dresses, but if you don't like that then a pair of black trousers and a halter or tube top can look good. If you can get away with it and usually you can you can wear boot leg jeans and a top of some description.
To be honest you sound a little shy. Remember that all sorts of people go clubbing and your meant to be having fun with your friends. People generally dress a little more risque to go clubbing because thats all part of the fun, i think the more you go out the more your get used to it and relax about any insecurities you may have.

Oh you just need to practice! Very Happy My mum didn't really like my sis and i wearing heels to school so I didn't start til my late teens. I still recall buying my first pairs and trying to get the hang of them in my bedroom... now I wouldn't be without them! I can dance in them easier, and even run! Cool

I can understand about 'not showing flesh' too. Been shy too. Spot the girl on the beach wearing a long tshirt! Embarassed I would say, if you don't want to 'expose', at least try and wear something cool - clubs can get awfully hot at times!

If heels are a problem, and a couple of girls I work with swear they can't wear them, then go for something stylish again.

But go on, try the heels! Just have faith in your balance and learn to rest your weight on the heel itself! They won't break! (Well, most times they won't! Wink ) I'm sure you'll love them in time... Very Happy

Wow these are such way fab pics Mandy! Those girls are gorgeous and I gotta get me sum kitten heels! Very Happy Hi Clues, the art of wearing heels does come with practice. If you are going to be dancing in heels then very comfy ones help you alot on the dance floor. I used to not be able to wear heels at all when I was in my teens, now they are mostly what I like to wear. I can do just about anything in them and I have done just about anything in them, hehe. Wink

Woah, thanks very much for going to the trouble of getting some pics! Very Happy

Yeah I like the flares idea, and you have convinced me to have a go at heels (in the privacy of my bedroom of course Wink Laughing )
I'll practise and then go strut my stuff! Wink

And a long sleeved top - definitely! Cool

Great, I'm quite excited about this new direction! Thanks again! Very Happy
