I find that my lower lip line has disappeared and I'm considering this procedure, and I over plucked my eyebrows which have not grown back so am considering haveing them done to. Have you had any experience with cosmetic tatooing?

I had my lips and eyebrows tattooed about four years ago. If I could find someone that would numb my lips before I had it done again I would!! My lips have faded considerably and I am definately going to have them re-done. Even though it is really quite painfull. My eyebrows have lasted a lot longer and will probably only need a touch up. The eyebrows were painfull but not as bad as the lips.

I have my eyebrows retouched every year (I use Retin-A on my skin and it fades the eyebrow color) and my wonderful technician has never caused me a moment of discomfort. I was amazed, because previous treatments had been agonizing. So, yesterday, I went in for my yearly touchup and decided to also have my lips done. You already know the answer. Not a moment of pain. She (Sukie Boyd in Port Hueneme, California) warned me that I'd be very uncomfortable when the topical anesthesia wore off. When it wore off, I ate kim chee and had a lovely evening-no pain.

i overplucked my eyebrows 2 n i have left them well over a yr 2 grow bk but they certainly rnt. i have been using an eyebrow pencil but thats quite time cnsuming and annoying. i am considering tattooing eyebrows, but because im only 16 i dont know if this is possible or whether it may go funny as my face changes?? also wat are the possible risks or side efects?

hey gabbie,

you will need to wait until you are 18 to have any Semi Permanent Make Up procedures carried out, on the bright side this should give you plenty of time to research the subject and decide if/how you would like your eyebrows done

also, as long as you follow the correct aftercare instructions then there should be no adverse side affects.

Hmm, I overplucked my brows when I was about 12, and then have continued to overpluck them since :s I realise my mistake now, and hate the fact that I don't have full eyebrows (They are very short, and thin :s). I doubt mine will ever grow back and I use pencil, which I agree takes me AGES to get right and is quite expensive when you get through 2 a week like me. I tried eyebrow tattooing - I basically had to go have them done, then wait for another 6 weeks and have them done again. It was painful, she said the shape I LIKED was all wrong and made me look constantly suprised (and they were too thick and dark for my colouring). I was NOT pleased, but fortunately for me, they were crap quality and after the scabs had come off, the colour was gone. £250 down the drain. So please, if you are going to get it done, check out the person, their surgery, and make sure you know what shape/style u want and feel comfortable with and STICK TO IT. I had it done when I was 17, and trusted the lady who had '10 years experience' and I ended up looking like a freak for a couple of months.

I have been considering getting my eyebrows tatooed, but I don't know what color i should get. I am a natural blond, but i like to sometimes be a red head. I was thinking about a light brown, but i am not sure. Also i have heard rumors that it can fade to an ugly grey color is that true?

If you are thinking about getting your eyebrows done then you should have a consultation with a Micropigmentation Specialist (you wouldn't have to have the treatment if you weren't entirely happy with the consultation) During the consultation you can ask all the questions you want and should get all the info you need to help you decide whether or not to go ahead with the treatment.
The person carrying out the procedure should go through all your different colour options....Personally I give every one of my clients a custom blended mix of pigments to ensure they get the best match for their skin/hair/eye colour.

Hello forum.

Hope i'm not being rude here, but I was quite flattered that someone recommended the Smudge-Free website which I noticed on Google so I thought I'd take a look. I'm not here to hard sell, but just to give some sound advice based on my own experience. I have corrected many less than acceptable procedures and have seen some very distressed clients over the years with terrible work on their face.

Indeed there are many horror stories regarding semi-permanet make-up. It is absolutely vital that you chose your technician very carefully. I have seen so many technicians use pictures which do not belong to them so I would suggest you talk to some of their clients to hear what they have to say. Remember, these procedures last a very long time so always make sure 'YOU' are happy with the shape and colour since it is you who will have to live with it.

While Smudge-Free offer a very high level of service and excellent procedures there are good techinicains out there. Just research thoroughly and check that they have genuine pictures of their own.
