hi, my names Sophie, I am 15 yrs old and I have only just started my period and I am due 2 b on my third one soon. I am going abroad in july, and i will be swimming, but i am 2 frightened 2 use one. Can someone help me?

Sophie no they don't hurt its just a case of getting used to them, get the light ones lillets the aplicator make sthem easy to insert and just change them about three or four times a day depending on how heavy your period is. You will be ok and after you have used them for a couple of times you will get used to which times in your period you are at your heaviest.

they might hurt if your hymen isn't broken but at 15 it probably is. I got my period at 15 and used tampons from day one. I had no choice as I was at my friends and that's all she had. Didn't hurt a bit. Hymens break from exercise and activity, not just from sex. The only way you'll know if it's broken or not is to check with your finger or to use a tampon and give it a try. I'm sure you'll be fine.

when i use a tampon, i dont think i insert it right..coz it never really works for me..

hi, im due to be going on holiday during a week of my period which i will be swimming a lot, ive never used tampons before but i've tried and cant seem to get it in/find where to get it in, i think i found the opening to the vagina but it hurt when i tried to get the tampon in. I really need to know what to do because my holiday will be ruined if i don't work out how to do this!?!?!?!
