taking wife's name

What do you think of the groom taking the bride's last name, instead of vice versa?

I must admit, I've never even considered this. I see no problem with a man taking his wife's name. Her name might be famous or sound really nice, and his name might be just horrid. :o Or maybe he just wants to let her know how much he loves her and is committed to her.

I'm definitely taking my fiance's name when we get married. I love his last name, and I would be proud to have it. I'm also happy that my signature won't change that much and that my initials will stay the same--H.R.H. (I just like the way it looks like Her Royal Highness...shhhhh, don't tell anybody... )

I don't see a problem, especially if the wife's surname is nicer!!

Ditto.

Although I don't think it should have to be compulsory like it used to be for the woman.
