However, I won't make those guesses or attack you personnally unless you force me to. It's your actions that determine the interaction. I hope you take the high road.

Ivan, yeah the financial events have been a moving target. I hear McCain has been adjusting his proposal on buying bad mortgages, but I hate the adjusted proposal even more than his original proposal. :(

BB, I question your priorities. LY did not attack you personally, but he did say that your ideas reflected a person who “had his head up his arse.” Now, That is a speech expression, not an attack. It is a way to say you are wrong, but the wrong is because you don’t want to look.

Yet, not so subtlety you begin to turn it into a personal attack:

Now that’s a personal attack.

I have never initiated a personal attack on another member, and never will, no matter how much I disagree with their views. However, if another member attacks me personnally, they should expect that I will defend myself and respond accordingly. 8)

cambridge, based on your own stated definition of an personal attack, you shouldn't mind me or anyone else reminding you that your head is so far up your arse that your nipples and eyes are indistinguishable. :D

 Colorful, but no, I don't mind. It is merely an expression of disagreement. :D It's only when you lend yourself more to the metaphor, than to the point, as you did with LY, that I think you cross the line. If we're really true to the point then we don't have to describe the other person at all.

The high road, well OK that sounds good :sunny:

My criticism is a follows (and as I said before I admit to having read only the first 7 or 8 pages of this thread, though I have read other stuff you've written in other threads): your relentless and single-minded focus on the evils of liberals (whom you seem to perceive as including everyone in a huge, wide-ranging group that starts presumably somewhere to your left, a view which I personally find insulting), scary radicals and specifically Barack Obama and the 60's has-been Ayers is wayyyyyyyyyy too simplistic a thesis to have much bearing in reality.

There's no balance. And you seem to willfully ignore facts to the contrary.

Methinks you can't have much real-world wisdom if you honestly believe that ANYTHING social or political could be so black-and-white.

That's it. In a nutshell, so to speak.

Ciao.............LY

LY, as far as being offended on politics, I'd suggest you do what you suggested, which is to relax. After all, your man is going to win. You'll be able to bask in his glow and others and I will end up holding the bag and suffering the consequences.

You played the standard liberal 'I'm intellectually and/or morally superior to you, therefore I'm right' card. Saying that may make you feel good, but it doesn't make it true. There are only two candidates running for president, not five, and there are marked differences between them. The choice isn't as complicated as you want to make in out to be.

The farthest-left, most inexperienced candidate nominated by a major party in American political history, with tax and spend policies in a recession, a redistributionist agenda, and close ties to terrorists and hatemongers is going to be president. You may not find that scary, but I do.

BB, I am pretty relaxed at this point about the election. I'm getting that warm fuzzy feeling I had when it was obvious Bill Clinton was going to win his first time around. Though, he was pretty disappointing in a lot of ways once he got in there.

Your anti-intellectual complaint is kinda lame. I talk (and write ) how I talk (and write) and in doing so feel that I treat you and others as equals, because I'm telling you as well as I can what I really think .

If you can't or won't respond in kind then there's nothing much I can do about it. But, condescending it ain't. I'm showing you my real, lovable self .

Cheers................LY

obama the tax collector cometh. Since 30-40% of Americans pay no taxes, to give them a tax cut, he will cut them a check and expand the national welfare program. For those who pay taxes, they will find that with all the tricks and trap doors obama is adding, their marginal tax rates will rise. obama further reduces the incentives for people to get ahead on your own. See the graph halfway down the link and explaination from American Enterprise Institute:

Oh right, like we’re gonna believe Wells Fargo Bank or the American Express Company.

The 30-40 percent who don’t pay taxes are on the other end of the scale. They ones who can afford high-priced accountants.

Anyone who thinks that the democrats are the taxers has his head up his ass. Whom did you think was going to pay for the Iraq war, Santa Claus? Phil Gramm, R-Tex., former chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, and his loyal fellow traveler, Sen. John McCain, pushed for the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which is directly responsible for the $700-billion bail out we now have to face. Your hackneyed protests are about 60 years past their time. Things have changed.
