Hi
Saw the reply Chloe sent you about looking in the health section for info on cerazette. I'm probably being really dim but i've searched and searched and can't see any info about cerazette.
Could you point me in the right direction please?
Thanks! Em |

The fact that 2 women here miscarried after 6 weeks, and both used Cerazette, has quite worried me now
Are there any statistics on Cerazette, pregnancy and miscarriage? |

I'm not sure if there are statistics or not. I had the feeling that my first miscarriage after coming off cerazette was due to the pill not being entirely out of my system and thus causing my body not to produce enough natural progesterone.
I now have a very healthy almost 5 month old! |

Hi, haven't been here for a while.
I just wanted to add, though, that I miscarried this weekend, at 6 weeks. And I too took Cerazette... |

After 2 years if taking this cerazette I came off it at 39yrs of age and now, in a stable relationship at 39 waiting to see if i am able to conceive. After two months of not taking the pill i have still not had a period but have experiences wigth gain, bloating, very tender breasts and after consulting the GP had a blood test. I had achieved a water infection and the GP thought i may have an eptopic pregnancy but no pregnancy (negative blood test) and still no period!!!
How long does it take for your periods to come back??? Previously if i ever missed a pill for a day or so i would immediately strat to bleed - on the positive i have had almost 2 years of hardly a period at all (my reason for taking the pill originally as they were heavy and painful) I now wonder if i will ever have a period and if i am able to conceive? Please post any reponse that may help.... |

I have been on Cerazette for about 2 1/2 years and recently stopped taking it. My periods returned almost immediately and have been regular pretty much to the day for the past 3 months.
Having been on some kind of contraception or another for almost 20 years now I just wanted to give my body a rest for a while.

| Stumbled upon this site when i was looking for info regarding cerazette and pregnancy. I took cerizette before and came off it, got pregnant straight away but then miscarried. I know miscarriage is surprisingly common but having read some of these comments it makes me wonder if there is some kind of link or just coincidence! I now want to take something short term as we are getting married in feb and want to try as soon as possible after that. Was going to take carazette again as was ok on that but now a bit dubious. Also suffered lots of urine infections while i was on it which is something ive ever had trouble with before! Interested to see other peoples experiences with it! Good luck to al those trying for bambinos etc xxxx |

I read a few articles on this site earlier in the year before we decided to TTC, I was a bit worried about some articles as quite a few people seemed to be saying that they had suffered miscarriages in the early stages, after using cerazette.
I put this to the back of my mind, started the folic acid and then came off my pill at the end May. (I'd been on this pill for about two years and after the initial non stop bleeding, I settled into a cycle and did not bleed for over 18 months.) AF arrived, on time, at the end of June. In the four weeks after finishing the last pack, I had horrible side effects, sickness, swollen breasts, stomach cramps, dizziness etc. I eventually did a test as I was convinced I must be pregnant but it was negative.
However, a month later I had a positive test. We were so pleased after all that I'd read that I'd got pregnant so quickly, but at six and a half weeks I started to bleed and after a scan, blood tests etc I miscarried. It's now been four weeks but can't start trying again until AF arrives again. Not sure whether we should wait longer? Anyone help? |

Have you had your natural progesterone levels checked (try to do a speichel test instead of a blood test... the results are exacter).
My experience was similiar to yours and I became convinced that since Cerazette functions by "tricking" your body into thinking it's pregnant by feeding it a fake progesterone thus stopping ovulation, it might take awhile after coming off Cerazette for your body to start producing enough natural progesterone again to sustain a pregnancy.
I did a speichel test 4 cycles after my miscarriage and found out that my progesterone level was on the border of being able to sustain a pregnancy and since I got pregnant that month again, I started using a natural progesterone cream to help my levels remain high enough until after the initial 3 months (then the placenta takes over so you don't have to worry so much about not producing enough progesterone). That pregnancy was a success and I now have a healthy 9 month old son!
Whether my first pregnancy coming off cerazette failed because of low progesterone and the 4 months time plus the natural progesterone cream helped to sustain the second pregnancy is something I'll never know for sure. But my gut instinct tells me that since my body quit making progesterone while on Cerazette and you need progesterone to sustain a pregnancy, that getting pregnant too soon after quitting Cerazette may not be enough time for your body to have started producing enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy.
Good luck finding your answers! |

Hi everyone
I was taking Cerazette for 4 years and it stopped my periods. I had irregular periods before that, only having 4 a year. I have stopped taking Cerazette for four months now and still haven't had a period!
I'm worried that I wont be able to get pregnant, and I don't have a sympathetic doctor, has anyone got any suggestions? |
