| Something is cynical the way they are having three bio girls. I can't help to think they did a gender selection. Can you do that with DNA these days? Brad never wanted baby boys, he always said girls even back with Jen. Is this possible? |

| Yes, you can select gender by invitro-fertilization. |

There is a technique that can be used it is expensive and not 100%
accurate but they basically take the sperm into a centrifuge and it spins & separates the sperm into x's & y's . Then the doctors do the invitro procedure with the sex you've selected. |

If you wait long enough they can tell the gender through amniocentesis tests. She probably had about 5 or 6 eggs implant and then they do what they call selective reduction ( a nice medical term for abortion) to get it down to the gender and number of babies they want.
That's what all these celeb women are doing who are having twins and just miraculousy get a boy and a girl (because most people want one of each), but we know Pitt only wants girls so again just as miraculously they get two girls. |

Is this what Julia Roberts did? |

Yes. And Marcia Cross, Jho, etc. Celebs aren't just spontaneiously having twins. They're all IVF induced.
Nothing wrong with it, but you know, Loons can't accept the truth. She was doing IVF for over a year. |

Right. I've also heard the term "harvest". LOL. Yes it DOES sort of gloss over the fact of what happens to the rest of the "harvested" eggs that were fertilized! |

Marcia Cross hasn't really made it a secret that she did invitro. I know that a month after she got married, she was photographed going to the fertility clinic. It worked very quickly. But I will say that I respect her because I remember her on Oprah at age 42 feeling down about not being married yet and wondering if she would be able to have children. Oprah said to her that she still has time. Marcia didn't seem confident that it would happen. Well, it did happen and I'm very happy fo her. On top of that, she didn't act desperate to get a man. She found her future husband, dated him for 2 years even at her age, married him and then got pregnant. So what if she needed a little help in getting pregnant. I'm just glad that she found her happiness the right way regardless of her age. |

I believe on a hunch she did rely on IVF treatments but you state that she had been getting IVF for over a year as a fact. Where did you hear that?
I think she might even had a miscarriage from the time when she was sporting a "gut" in possibly her on-going IVFs. |

She was seen in an IVF clinic in Jan 2007. It was posted on this board. She didn't miscarry! Are you SERIOUS? She would have phoned STAR/PEOPLE CNN etc if she had!
PS, you sound LOONISH. |

Come on you can't be serious. If a RE is transfering 5-6 embryos I think he would get his license pulled. Most will only do two.
IVF or IUI can be a miracle for some couples. I think these two used it for the wrong reasons. They either did IVF or she was on Clomid or injectables thus producing more than one egg per cycle. I wouldn't put it past her to do this behind Brad's back to up the bio ante. Also twins are the In thing right now. |

That's only in the UK and Australia that they allow 2 per cycle. In the USA we've had SEVERAL incidents of people who've had 6 births due to IVF. In the USA many physicians fertilize more than 2 to make sure it takes. I had a friend who had IVF done, and she had a bunch of eggs fertilized, but only wanted one child. The rest became frozen. |

No you're thinking of the identical twins born from IVF when the egg splits. There was a news item about that recently.
If you know of a specialist that is transferring 5-6 embies, please post his or her name so I can report him/her to the board of ethics. They will put back 2, with a MAX of 3 embies MAX. Any more eggs that fertilize they will freeze for a FET transfer if the 2 transfered don't work.
I am serious when I say I want that doctors name you know of. Any doctor putting back 5+ embies is unethical and should be reported. |

I just watched a show on Discovery Health about a doctor specializing in IVF doing this same thing. He had 3 women who had several failed attempts when the only implanted 1 or 2 eggs so he implanted as many as he could harvest for their last chance. He even told the one couple that was strongly against abortion/reduction that there was a chance that all 6 eggs could implant and they would have sextuplets. A very, very small chance, but still a chance.
I agree it's unethical, but it's not illegal and is starting to be done more and more. |

For a Discovery show? I can see that.
I have seen a lot of stories of women and IVF and doctors are usually good about telling women when they are too old for success or when to use a donor. Pumping a 40 plus year old full of hormones to have a pregnancy is not normal.
Nature tells us we are not meant to conceive much more past 35. |
