Hi guys,

I've read so many things on this case and thought I'd share what I've learned.

I've been on the pill for 7 years so far and am still going with it as I'm not ready for children yet. I too was worried that it would take me years to get pregnant and that the pill would slow me down which is why I decided I will come off it about 2 years in advance.

My findings on the matter were:

The pill does not stop you having children. In fact, every 'fake' period you have on the pill, the body (in terms of hormones) goes back to its normal state and so the body adapts rapidly. The irregular periods is not an effect from the pill, it is your natural body.

How it works is your period cycle changes every few years, sometimes becomes more regular, sometimes less regular. However, when you're on the pill, you have no idea how your natural cycle is. If you have irregular periods when you come off the pill, that is because that is your natural cycle and would have happened even without ever taking the pill. It will change again and become more frequent.

In reality, the pill is more natural for your body than not. As crazy as this sounds, in nature your bodies want you to be pregnant all the time. Because of modern society, we do not allow this and spend ears having periods. This goes against nature. The pill consists of natural hormones to make your body think it is always pregnant, which is a good state for the vody to be in.

So please don't stress. And don't worry about the pill there are no signs that it prevents you having a baby, You will all get pregnant eventually.

I thought i would just share my experience. I came off Marvelon 5 1/2 weeks ago. i am extremely bloated and none of my clothes fit. I also have sore boobs but other than that feel pretty normal. I had the EWCM on tues which is supposed to be a sign of ovulation so i timed things right with hubby and we'll wait and see! I'm hoping to be one of the ones that gets caught straight away but you never know. fingers crossed!
