No.
Reasons:
No medical benefits at all to justify neonatal circumcision, some problems can occur later in life (puberty) but cannot be detected until then, and are fairly rare.
It is not my body, I have no right over it. I cannot make a non-medical, life-changing decision on someone who has no part in that decision.
Would I have wanted this without my consent? Absolutely not.
There is no reason he could not decide for himself when he is older, why simply not wait and see what he wants?
The majority of the men in the UK are uncircumcised, so what is the point? Even if it was more popular, that is no reason to inflict such on an infant.
It is very painful for an infant. The procedure is traumatic and anaesthetic is often not used at all, not even a local. Even with a local (which is a cream for babies or a weakened adult injected local) they can still feel pain - and lots of it. Any anaesthetic is dangerous for an infant, and this is why either none is used or it is simply watered down to the point it doesn't do any good at all.
There have been cases of deaths from circumcision and the loss of the entire penis, just because it's rare doesn't mean it won't happen, and then you would be to blame because of your "preference". The same issue applies if the child doesn't like being the way he is older in life.
If for religious reasons - you cannot assume the religion of a child. It is the parents' religion and not the child's. Let the child freely choose his religion (or lack thereof) and freely choose circumcision for whatever reason.
To support my reasons:
An infant circumcision - listen to the screams, and look at what is done:

That it causes harm and pain, and is a violation of the child's rights:

Finally, a child can now sue you over the decision you make. And to be honest, they deserve it. |

When our boys were born in the early '80s, we chose to leave them intact.
Recently African males are deciding to get circumcised as circumcision has been found to reduce the risk of female to male HIV transmission -- the fewer males infected, the fewer females infected.
Today I would likely decide differently. |

Those studies are flawed. |

WHO, the UNAIDS Secretariat and their partners are working to develop specific policy recommendations for expanding and promoting male circumcision as a method of HIV prevention. The UN agencies have noted with considerable interest the announcement made by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) in December 2006 on the results of two trials which showed an approximate halving of risk of HIV infections among men who were circumcised. The trials carried out in Kenya and Uganda, support results from earlier South Africa Orange Farm Intervention Trial in 2005, which demonstrated at least a 60% reduction in HIV infection among circumcised men.
The UN agencies emphasize that male circumcision does not provide complete protection against HIV infection. It should never replace other known effective prevention methods and should always be considered as part of a comprehensive prevention package, which includes correct and consistent use of male or female condoms, reduction in the number of sexual partners, delaying the onset of sexual relations, and HIV testing and counselling.
WHO and the UNAIDS Secretariat have convened technical consultations on trial findings and developed policy recommendations for countries. The groups will be working cooperatively to identify the best means of increasing the delivery of safe circumcision services in countries that choose to scale up male circumcision as a way of HIV prevention.

Take note... Circumcision is effective ONLY for heterosexuals.
Since the Colonel has a gay son he couldn't be arsed with saving others lives because it's counter productive to his gay agenda. IE... gay politics supersedes the lives of others! |

| Those studies are flawed. The WHO is made up mostly of US doctors who know different. |

From what I can see all the studies REPUTING the link between circumcision and AIDS was based on studies that neglected asking if they liked packing other mens S***!
THE W.H.O. already concedes that circumcision wont help FUDGE PACKERS!
Even your chart, Where circumcision doesn't prevent AIDS, fails do discriminate between the straight and manhole inspectors. |

As liberal as you are, I know you will have no problem telling your sons that dating a girl thats f*cked a few bisexual guys is OK.
In that instance circumcision can and does help your straight boys.
But circumcision wont help the rimmer. |

I love the way that's the only thing you hate.
If he was straight, you'd have no issue with him. You are a fool. |
