I have noticed that many men's p@nties no longer have a fly hole. However, they still frequently have a pouch in front for the genitals which places too much emphasis on those things.

Since many styles are now quite similar what makes them either women's or men's p@nties? Just the manufacturer's labeling in most cases. So what difference does it make as long as the p@nties adequately cover what they are supposed to cover?

As for the fly hole - I think that it provides a rather disgusting means of urinating. What is wrong with taking just a little longer to pull them down and sit?
