Could assault ever be justified?

Surely it depends on one's own individual morals, so in some cases it is justifiable.

Yes it can, but it does depend on what the person did to make you hit them.

Not only can it be justified to hit people in certain situations - like in self defence, or to stop them harming someone else or themselves - but in the case of some people like Cambridge or honest orator, it should be made compulsory.
