I'm a nutter for wanting to have a wedding that isn't just about waste and "mememe"?
Seems a bit harsh, but if that's how you feel! |

Hey dude, how much eco-friendly wedding clobber have you actually seen? Could be fine...
Now I think about it, Vans have a lot of eco-friendly-made skate shoes, and they don't look any worse than the standard-made ones. |

And how many people wear Vans?
Can't say I know a single one! Not my kids - or their friends! |

I suspect you may be right, Shinykatie. Attitudes like his are the reason the planet is in the sorry state it is: i.e. the belief that we have to keep ecological thinking "in its place"... that if we drop a couple of empty cans into a recycling bin, or replace a one or two incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents, we've done our bit. Once upon a time that may have been true, but those times are long gone. We need to undergo a complete paradigm shift in our thinking about the impact all of our actions are having on the environment, not just a few actions taken in isolation.
I applaud your desire to take into consideration the ecological impact of even something so nominal as a wedding ceremony. I believe we need more of us to be thinking on that that level, not less. |

It's actually going to be a pretty standard wedding with all the usual flowers, white frock and wedding rings stuff you get at normal weddings - I'm just making sure it's all eco-friendly. Since cotton is one of the biggest sources of pollution, getting a dress that's either second hand or ethically made doesn't really seem that "extreme" to me. |
Then have a horse and cart rather than a wedding car.
It's OK to do this and that "ethically" etc. However, you stated it was an "eco-wedding" that isn't very possible.
And no, I am not the nutter here - that is Fred. |

Do you seriously think that as the father of four boys I wouldn't know?
My wallet has been attacked more by them than I have been in battle!
The latest for my kids have included K-Swiss, Rockport, Ben Sherman and a good few others. |

Alright, you have a fat wallet. No need to rub it in. In my opinion, Vans would be high on many kids wish-lists, especially the "skater" types. |

None. Just normal kids.
You don't have to have such a subculture identity to cling to. I never did.
Though it was more hippys and punks in my day |
