Hi everyone,
been fairly busy this past week so not posted much, although i did come onl
ine most days for about 10 mins and have a quick look around.
been seriously thinking of going to university, the job which i can do atm (admin) i find it really boring ..and it dosen't pay that well either ..even if i were to progress up to the more senior roles
i think maybe im a bit old for university (at 22) ...but meh you know that they say better late than never..
on thursday ..i spent a huge amount of time researching what subjects were on offer, career progression, what jobs they could lead to etc.
i found a really good website that had a huge amount of info ..so that cut down on my searching time. i did look at practacally everything ..., i know my strenghts and weaknesses and the sorts of stuff i enjoy so i took that onto consideration as well.
after several hours in the end i decided the subjects which seemed to be falling into the catagory of creative arts is where i feel i have most talent and potential to actually do well, as much of the stuff there im fairly good at or really good at ...plus i think i am quite a creative person.
unfortunately some subjects in the creative arts ..which i feel i'd be exceptionaly good at them i discovered that statistically people can't seem to make a good living in them, and the ones that do end up really rich ..but then again the overwhelming majority are making very little money, ..and man has to eat ...so i don't think i'll persue those ones,
after narrowing it down, i decided on graphic design.
i have had a tiny bit of very basic experience in that before (just messin around in photoshop creating/manipulating pictures) and was really pleased with the results, plus i know i'd be good at it if i studied it as creativity for that sort of thing comes quite easily to me.
anyways, it looks like i'll have to do an "access to higher education" course first in art and design before i'll meet the entry requirements to study at degree level...and whats more i've already missed the deadline this year to put in an application... bah.
...oh well, in the meantime wish me luck
