I've been there but it's only great if you're a hippie IMHO.
Was kinda boring for me. I like to shop and it was nothing but red rocks, golf courses and thrift stores.
Luckily it was only a day trip. Couldn't imagine spending more time there.
Scottsdale is much better!! |

| Asheville North Carolina, or for that matter just about anywhere in and around southern Utah beats Sedona. As far as sheer beauty is concerned. |

Went last year and used Sedona as a base for travelling to Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Rock formations are superb but lot of roadworks going on. The church built into the rocks is pretty impressive. Also visited Lake Powell and going out on a boat and discovering the lake was spectacular.
Much prefer West Coast USA and Arizona, Utah, Nevada, to the East Coast. |
