First off, it is really really important to know that once coming off the pill, if you get pregnant, it is very possible for a baby to be born with problems...the pill has been known to cause problems with the baby. Alot of dr's will have a woman take a lesser pill so she does not get pregnant the first year after coming off. Also, I guess it depends on the kind you used.
For some women, it takes a really long time to get pregnant especially if you have been on the pill for a long time. And then again, I have an Aunt who got pregnant in a few months! It all depends on how your body reacts to it! |

Don't listen to st-ignatius. It will only make you feel worse and his/her advice is not based on medical research but on a desire to indoctrinate you into his/her beliefs.
My friend got pregnant straight away after coming off the pill, but then I had another friend who took over a year.
Good luck. I hope that it all goes okay! |

There is some medical research which suggests you are slightly more fertile in the first few months after coming off the pill. With regard to conception it is still early days yet, it can take a long time, so keep trying!
Your periods are very irregular, were they that way before you started taking the pill? When your cycle is that long it can make it difficult to judge when you are ovulating, and sometimes very irregular periods can be a symtom of an underlying medical condition which could be affecting your fertility. You might want to consider speaking to your doctor about it if you're worried. |

In that case, it may just be taking your body a while to get back into it's natural rhythm. Maybe give it some more time and if nothing happens go back to the doctor - they do sometimes miss things. Good luck |

lol. Ok...right. I also said my husbands aunt got pregnant right away after getting off the pill.
I looked into it and the particular BC I was talking about that can leave a baby damaged is the depo-vera shot. So, that was only one BC in particular I was talking about....sorry for the confusion.
If I wanted to indoctrinate someone with my "beleifs" I would have laid out a whole lot more that is wrong with the pill. She asked why is she not getting pregnant? Women have been known to lose their fertility because of being on the pill so long. This is medically based.
Look, I am not saying this to scare you. My advice would be to go to the Dr...let him/her know what is going on. If needed, you and your husband get tested...there is alot of stuff they can do know to help people have the kids they want. |

| I was doing some reading up on the pill and it looks like the general consensus is that your fertility can come back the same day you get off the pill, or 12 months later! Just depends on your body. Sounds like to me your fertility has just recently come back so it could take a few more months. |
