I'm seriously thinking that it should be relatively straightforward to reverse engineer a trojan which is part of a botnet to overthrow its creator, never mind "say hello..." more like - "say goodbye!" as the botnet is killed from the inside, out. I'm sure there must be people doing it.
Reminds me of a virus variant I once heard about - it in itself was basically an "anti-virus" which used the same infection method to find vulnerable machines, removed the virus, patched it to prevent further infections and then removed itself a couple of days later. |
