I disagree that I've "wasted my life" by living in accordance with the Golden Rule, i.e., treating others as I would expect to be treated in like circumstances.

God is forgiving, but in order to be forgiven, one must seek forgiveness and sincerely repent whilst alive. Once you're dead, it's too late. Your file is closed. You are judged on how you exercised your free will during your lifetime.

I once killed a terrorist holding a young women as a shield. I am sure that young woman believes my action was justified in killing him.
