He thought it was "cute" to have such a young "nudist" in the family and said not to worry as she would probably soon grow out of it.
On bath nights I would dry her, then wrap the towel around her body and she would often go downstairs and sit with us on the sofa. Now it's obviously not healthy to sit around in a damp towel for too long so after a while she would be told to remove it and put a robe or T-shirt on. Needless to say the towel would be removed but that's as far as it went. When I challenge her hubby would say "What does it matter? There's only the 3 of us here and she would be going to bed shortly anyway!"
I'm not against nudity but I feel this is getting out of hand. Hubby just sees it as harmless fun but I worry that this "obsession" with being naked will get my daughter into trouble. Please help.

I wouldn't worry about, I too am a single mother, so my 2 daughters and I have been pretty casual around the house in the same way. Were not nudists, we don't hang out all night in the nude, but we usually undress in our own bedrooms and just walk nude down the hall to the bathroom to shower, or then back to our bedrooms. I would never allow that if there were males in the house, but with it just being us 3 females no one is bothered by it.

Suffice to say she was still naked when nanna and grandpa arrived but dressed quickly after opening their presents to her as one was a new dress which they insisted that she put on.
Rubbish. I can't say I believe this at all.
At her age she should know how to behave.
this is a total wind up. A 10 year old is aware of his/her body and easily embarrassed.

i would be the same,if a man was in the house,so i am not worryed,how i see it we where born with no clothes,so in a way dont see a problem,as long as its in the house,may i ask how old ur daughters are.my are 13,9 and 5 months old

I know what the response will be "we have heating..." Yes dear, most of us do, but it would still be too cold to walk around nude.

Thank you for your support. I was getting worried where this thread was leading particularly with some of the comments the colonel was making. There's no way I would discipline her in the way he was suggesting. It's disgusting the attitude he has towards children.
It's a new year and a new attitude with me where I'm concerned. From what I've read on here and talking to family and friends I've decided to let my 'Angel' dress however she pleases, within reason. I'm happy to let her be naked if she so wishes, I know she will quickly learn when it necessary or desirable to be clothed.
Angel still sleeps naked and more often than not will be that way at breakfast. She is also that way around bathtime. As she is now back at school she is obviously dressed during the day and usually during the evening when she comes home.
At weekends it really depends on what we are doing. Saturdays are usually spent at the shops so she is dressed most of the day then. Sundays are more relaxed. If she is naked at breakfast she could be that way all morning. Sometimes she helps me prepare dinner, or plays in her room. If we have guests for dinner I encourage her to dress, if not I leave it up to her to decide. There has been one Sunday when she spent the whole day naked.
I don't see the need to force her to be dressed. Many people choose the nudist way of life and manage very well. I'm pleased she is comfortable enough with herself to be seen that way if she wishes. I'd be far more concerned if she was so hung up on the way she looked that she didn't want anyone to see her that way, particularly her parents.
I'm not sure how long she will continue to behave like this, or whether puberty will put a stop to it. I do know though that I'd rather have a happy naked daughter than a sad clothed one.
