You can the read the full article at: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/relationships/dating-116.html

I have seen arguments and hurt feelings on who should speak first--the male or the female when passing by on the street: when entering a home: or at a gathering or party. I have been told the lady should speak first and wonder why? Manners seem distant in todays society compared to colonial times but a standard should be kept and know the reason why?

Well I agree. The very basics like how you eat, how you converse, just saying please and thank-you. It's all about making an effort. If not, then each of you are taking each other for granted. And when this happens, there is a danger that one or the other will go off with someone else for a bit of 'fun'.

Too right, the last thing that I wanna see is food churning around someone's gob because they don't eat with their mouth closed, or other slob-like behaviour that is just embarrassing to be associated with.

Good manners are so important. My bf has exquisite manners, better than me in fact (!) and i now can't imagine being with anyone with bad manners. He does thinghs like holding the door open for me every time etc and it makes a girl feel very special. I think all you guys out there should try being a little more socially accetable, it may help your cause! I also think that as long as you have passion in the bedroom good manners is no excuse for wandering to find another man due to boredom.

Good manners are important in a relationship, and it should come naturally to him. He has to want to be well mannered and not feign it. If he has to force himself to behave well mannered then he is acting out a part and not contributing to an honest relationship.

It is important to know that he is genuinely honest, supportive, understanding, trustworthy, respectful, faithful, responsible, reliable and non-possessive. These are all aspects of good manners. If he lacks the manners to interact effectively then he will jeopardise the relationship.
