Katie is doing just fine thanks

I changed a few months ago to terry nappies and plastic pants as the pampers size 6 leaked at night.

Katie has been dry a few nights here and there but is still much in need of her nappy at night

some people frown on kids katie's age(6) wearing nappies but she has a weak small bladder which she has little control over. The Doctors say that it will take time and it will get stronger it just takes some kids longer than others.

Katie is wet most nights but she does sometimes wake in the night bursting to go, Katie will always get up to go to the bathroon but when this happens she will quite often start weeing herself when she stands up due to the weight of her bladder but she does sometimes make it.

Katie much prefers waking up in a dry bed and the terry's seem to be helping her wake when she feels the wetness where before the pampers sooked up the wee quickly and made it harder to feel.

we have a little light at the end of the tunnel but this can take a long time to beat but i believe a cloth nappy is the best answer for the child the furniture and parents.

what do you other guys think?

Is anyone in the same boat as I am and can offer abit of advice or can share a similar story ?
I'm always in 2 minds whether night nappies (when used every night) are best for promoting dryness or if they can cause 'prolonged bedwetting'

What nappies do you use o your child ?

I use terries and plastic pants on my 2 at night. The both regularly wet and I have tried with the older one on different occasions having her got to bed without her nappy on and things go unchanged. She still wets nightly. I find myself in 2 minds from time to time also but in my case anyways night nappies do what I want to do. The beds are dry in the morning and the whole house gets a good nights sleep which I believe to be important.
I believe that children do not want to wet the bed and want it to stop. Keeping them comfortable and getting a good nights sleep are important as they both got good reports.

Glad to hear that Katie is ok with the terry nappies and plastic pants on for bed. I remember you were in a bit of a quandry as to what to do as you were having problems with the bed getting wet.
Night nappies on older children are usually used to help the child be comfortable with the bedwetting and it lets the house get a good nights sleep. My 2 also wet nightly, girls ages 9 & 7, and the cost of pullups for 2 is a lot.. Let her be for now...

Katie is fine with her night nappy and is starting now to waken more often when she wets herself and even wakes up sometimes bursting to go. If she wakes up bursting she will get up to go but often wets herself before she gets to the toilet.

Does your girls ever wake up needing to go?

I caught katie on Sunday morning watching TV still in her nightware fidgiting on the sofa. I went to the kitchen to put the laundry in the utility room and came back and told katie to come to the toilet to wee to which she told me she didn't need anymore. i was upset with her as she know if she needs when awake she has to use the toilet and not the nappy.

Does your girls ask to go to the toilet when they have a nappy on or do you let them just use the nappy?

I put katie in her nappy just as she is jumping into bed, are you the same?

My daughter wears a nappy to bed because she has a medical condition. The Doctor said the best way forward was (protection) nappy's.

I take it you think children should just be left to sleep in a wet bed and because they don't like it will stop.

if a child wearing a nappy to bed is abuse why do doctors including mine say it's common? Why do Huggies make DryNites Pullup nappies for children up to 15 yes 15 years old?

In this Day and Age leaving a bed wetting child (who wets every night)to sleep in a cold urine filled bed, now that is abuse.

The youngest one gets her nappy just as she is getting into bed. The older one has learned to do it herself and I insist she get them on half hour before bed as she is known to take a simple thing and make a long drawn out affair of it.
I don't allow them going to bed with wet nappies on so they usually tell me that they want to go. In the morning they know they are wet and want to get out of them.
My oldest sometimes gets up during the night to go and she takes care of herself, the youngest not there yet.
You were dealing with deciding on Drylife or Suprima plastic pants which did you decide to go with and why?

Katie likes all the differant colours that you get so she is happy too.
