Does anyone happen to know what could prevent You Tube clips from running one PC, but not another?
My friend tried to watch a couple of YouTube clips, but got a message to upgrade her flash player, so she did that. (She went to Macromedia's site and got the latest plug-in) At the moment, we both have the same version of Firefox and the same version of Flash, yet YouTube works for me, but not her. -Strange.
Thanks. |

YouTube is a strange and complicated beast. Its behaviour is somewhat different from "normal" sites in that their servers are highly distributed and different users will be directed to different servers based on the clip selected, their ISP, location and various other factors.
Is it that they can't play any clips, or that only some (or one) will not play?
Do other video sites work (if you're unsure try http://one.revver.com)? |

Thanks for the help, Mono.
No videos will work, unfortunately, but they all used to until she got that message to upgrade Flash. I thought maybe it was one of those messages that gets us to download malware, but it was the correct site.
I'll pass the info on to her. |

The problem seems to have rectified itself. lol I think it may have been timing out, as I had the same message yesterday from MySpace Videos, (My connection was very slow) but I left it for a while and it eventually showed the clip; even though the page was showing as being fully downloaded already. -It was a bit strange. |

| I try to watch some video's, or even the local news which streams the last broadcast, but sometimes all I get is a myriad of colours, and some sound. My dearly beloved tried to watch something, I think on the Nuts or Max Power website, and he got the same. You Tube, Metacafe etc work ok, but these don't. |
