dry at night?

has anyone got a child who is over 4 and they are not out of nappies at a night as when i had to see the health visitor she had a bit off a go at me saying i should just take her out of them then wake her in the night and after a while she will do it herself,but she has never shown any sign of being ready of a night, she was dry through the day by 2 1/2 i just dont feel she is ready for coming out of her nappies of a night yet . what should i do

kids who are pushed into things generally tend to go backwards after a time only you can tell when they are ready leave her untill you feel the time is right

don't worry to much if your child at 4 wets at night....this can be normal for children up to 6 and even beyond this is why huggies make pajama pants up to the age of 15.

Kids grow at differant rates and the best thing is to let it happen naturally
with encouragment and praise for dry nights

It's Felicity, haven't seen your posts for a looong time ? howz your daughter getting on with the new terry nappies you bought her, is there any inenins to take her out of them soon ? Did you get them from Kosikare in the end ? I think thatif you're both happy it will save you money in the long run and the towelling is more eco-friendly without all these chemicals with Pampers, Huggies etc.
My daughter's fine, just the same, just got a load to wash each day !

I use terry nappies and plastic pants on katie as she wets the bed almost every night. katie has a small bladder and has had various tests done and we have been told that it will just take a little longer for her bladder to catch up and that the best option for the moment is protection.

I used to use pampers 6 on katie at night but they are a bit tight now and cant hold her wettings at night so i have changed to terrys and plastic pants.

katie also has problems during the day also where she will find she needs to go and she has to go without delay or she wets...she can hold around 2 -3 mins once she has to go and then she will just loose control. She wears a pamper 6 during the day if we go out somewhere we don't know where the toilets are but if she needs she will ask and i will take her to a toilet so she can go.

how about you...do you have a bedwetter in nappies and plastic pants

Yes I have a bedwetter a girl age 11 and she wears nighttime nappies and plastic pants. She has always been a bedwetter and was day trained just before age 3. Night training has been not easy. Her doctor has said she is a late bloomer and will eventually catch up.
Sometime during the evening she will get herself ready for bed, puts on her nappies and plastic pants and night gown or pj's. Sometimes it is earlier in the evening and sometimes it is just before she gets into bed.
In the morning she removes the wet nappy and showers and gets dressed for the day.
I gather your daughter is put into nappies before bed does she mind them?

Katie doesn't mind being in a nappy at night because she hates wet sheets and pajamas and understands they are for protection not a punishment.

she is not so keen during the day if we go out and i put a disposible nappy on her but i always make sure she is wearing a skirt or something that makes it impossible to tell she has one on.

Katie gets her nappy on just as she gets into bed at night or if she is ill and is staying in bed but if she is awake and needs a wee i like her to come and ask to go to the toilet.

you say that you daughter puts her nappy on before bed and sometimes earlier, if she has her nappy on in the evening and needs does she go to the toilet or will she just wee herself? does she wee herself again in the morning before the nappy comes off once she is awake.

Katie wets sometimes in the morning, at weekends and holidays we usually have breakfast before getting dressed and she has been known to wet then sometimes.
